Legion’s Ladies Day focuses on women business leaders

CONSTANCE BAY – It wasn’t ladies only, but it was definitely for the ladies.

The Branch 616 Ladies Day is a mini-trade show focusing on West Carleton’s female business leaders in the service and product industry. Just under 15 booths filled the West Carleton Royal Canadian Legion, Legion Hall on Saturday, Feb. 8, a variety of services and products geared for the female gender.

“This will be the third one and there will be another one in November, probably at the community centre (NorthWind Wireless FIbre Centre),” volunteer organizer Hélène Charette. “It’s a lot of fun to do. It’s a great group of people.”

Charette grew up on the Quebec side of the Ottawa River but has called Constance Bay home for the last four years.

“I got involved with the Legion just to get to know people from the area,” Charette said.
