Lanark County loot recovered, returned to owners
CARLETON PLACE – The Lanark County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have recovered and returned stolen property from two thefts in Carleton Place and Perth, but no arrests will be made.
“The Lanark County Detachment of the OPP have recovered stolen property, with a total value of nearly $8000, related to two separate break, enter and thefts in the towns of Carleton Place and Perth,” OPP media relations officer Joe Tereschuk released in a statement today (March 3). “The investigations into these occurrences began in January 2021. All of the property has been returned to its rightful owners.”
The OPP says tips from the public led to the recovery, but there will be no charges or names released at this time.
“Information received from the public was invaluable to investigators and directly lead to a positive resolution,” Tereschuk said. “The individual involved was not formally charged and will be dealt with by the court using alternative measures.”
