Kinburn seniors hosting cards, dancing in January
KINBURN – Whether your favourite pastime involves throwing cards or cutting a rug, the Kinburn and District Seniors (KDS), have something for you this January.
The KDS’ annual Waltz in to Winter dance is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 17 starting at 6 p.m. at the Kinburn Community Centre. Live music will be performed by Glen Siverson and Almonte’s Leatherworks will be providing a catered buffet dinner.
Tickets are $35 per person and available by calling Barbara Paul at 613-836-1304. Organizers request you buy your tickets in advance. The dance is sponsored in part by the West Carleton Seniors Council.
If dancing is too much work and you prefer your activities in a seated position, the KDS will be hosting six-handed euchre at the Kinburn Community Centre every Thursday in January (Jan. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30).
Five Thursdays in January starting at 1 p.m. euchre will be played with light refreshments being served. The cost is $5 payable at the door.
Don’t feel you have to choose between the two events, hit them all and have a wonderfully busy start to 2020.
