KCSBN hosting COVID-19 business coping strategies virtual panel discussion
WEST CARLETON – Two of Ottawa’s most prolific entrepreneurs are the keynote speakers in a virtual panel discussion on COVID-19 business coping strategies Thursday, May 7.
The Kanata-Carleton Small Business Network (KCSBN) is hosting the free Zoom webinar starting at 4 p..m.
“COVID-19 poses evolving challenges for all entrepreneurs, especially those owning start-ups and small businesses,” KCDBN President Mai Metawie released in a statement. “But how do you deal with the pandemic and still remain productive and positive? Join me as we discuss coping strategies with Karla Briones and Steve Cody, two of Ottawa’s top business leaders and entrepreneurs.”
Briones is the owner of Freshii Westboro, Global Pet Foods Kanata & Hintonburg, and Karla Briones Consulting. Briones is an independent business advisor with the World Skills Employment Centre, funder and mentor with The Founders Fund, and business advisor with Invest Ottawa. In 2018, Briones was awarded the Ottawa Newcomer Entrepreneur of the Year Award and the recipient of the Women Who Lead Award in 2019.
Steve Cody has founded more than a dozen successful businesses including Cody Party Rentals, Monster Halloween, The Better Software Company. Cody ‘s latest venture, Ruckify, has rolled out in Canada and is now taking Texas by storm. Cody founded Say No For Nick, a not-for-profit organization advocating for the prevention of opioid and fentanyl use by youth.
