Juke Joint celebrates second anniversary

CARP – Time flies when you’re having fun, cooking food.

The Juke Joint Soul Kitchen celebrated its second anniversary yesterday (Feb. 10) and did it “the best way we know how.”

With a night of Open Mic hosted by Billy Martin, a little cake and a little sparking wine.

“It’s been two years,” proprietor Corri Greenberg released in a statement. “We can’t believe it. What wonderful support from all of you. We appreciate each and every one. Thank you.”

West Carleton Online was there for the first anniversary, but this time we left them in peace for the two-year celebration.

Staff presented owners Greenberg and her partner Sandra Weyand with a collage of photos commemorating the passage of time.

Many regulars, fans and even the ‘competition’ passed on their well wishes over social media to the restaurant which is also a big volunteer contributor to the community.

“Congratulations,” Irene Carroll=Cummings wrote. “We love it there. All the best for a great future. Amazing little restaurant for a great little village. Cheers Cal and Irene.”

Ridge Rock Brewing Co. co-owner Ryan Grassie also passed on his well-wishes.

“Congrats,” he said. “Awesome restaurant and awesome staff and ownership.”
