OTTAWA – The on-ramp from Pinecrest Road northbound to Highway 417 westbound will close for Stage 2 light rail transit work starting at midnight on Monday, March 1.

“It will remain closed until November,” city staff released in a statement today (Feb. 17). “Signed detours will be in place through the duration of construction. Cycling and pedestrian routes will remain open.”

The following detours will be in effect during the closure:

From Pinecrest Road north of Highway 417

• Turn left on Richmond Road
• Enter Hwy 417 at Richmond Road on-ramp

From Greenbank Road south of Highway 417:

• Turn left on Baseline Road
• Turn right on Richmond Road
• Turn left on Holly Acres Road
• Enter Hwy 417 at Holly Acres on-ramp

“Additional ramp closures will be required this spring at Moodie Drive and this fall at Pinecrest,” staff said. “Details for each closure and the detours in place will be provided before the work begins. The Stage 2 O-Train West Extension will run in a trench on the north side of Highway 417, travelling underneath Pinecrest and Moodie.”
