Harbour’s Ovington wins silver at OFSAA

GUELPH – Fitzroy Harbour’s Brandon Ovington headed to Guelph and brought home the silver medal at the Ontario high school track and field championship.

Ovington competed at the University of Guelph track and field facility during the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations Track and Field Championship held June 6 to June 8.

Ovington competes in discus and shot put.

“Coming off a fifth place finish in discus on Friday, on Saturday morning Brandon set a personal best in shotput on his last throw to win a silver medal,” his dad Colin Ovington reported. “Very proud!”

His put measured 18.30 metres. None of his first five throws broke 17 metres.

Brandon finished fifth in discus at the meet.
