Harbour darts, breakfast and party volunteers
FITZROY HARBOUR – Dart nights are back and so is the Men’s Ministry Breakfast Meeting, although on the road this week and a call for volunteers highlight the Harbour’s latest news.
Pub Dart Night starts this Friday
Fitzroy Harbour Friday Pub Dart nights at the Fitzroy Harbour Community Centre begins Sept. 20 at 8 p.m.
Games are the 501 darts tournament style with weekly prizes. $5 to play. For information, please contact Laurie at lauriejhall9@gmail.com.
The Fitzroy Habour Community Association (FHCA) would appreciate participants purchasing a membership – they are available online at www.fitzroyharbour.com.
Men’s Ministry Breakfast Sept. 21
The Men’s Ministry Breakfast Meeting at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Kinburn. The guest speaker George Shirreff, a retired teacher of Algonquin College will talk about The Story of the Ottawa Little Theatre which is a community theatre, for the people and run by the people of Ottawa for over a century. Halloween Party Seeks Volunteers
The FHCA is looking for young help for the association’s popular Hallowe’en party.
“Do you need volunteer hours?,” the FHCA released in a statement today (Sept. 17). “Here is a fun way obtain them locally. The FHCA is seeking volunteers for their annual Kids Hallowe’en Party which will take place on Saturday Oct. 26 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. We are looking for students to assist with preparations for the party, the coordination of a special event that will be taking place during the party, and to help with various party stations, set up, tear down, and more.”
The FHCA requires students that are available to assist on the day and evening of the event. Depending on availability and level of participation, students have been able to obtain more than 20 community hours helping with this event in previous years.
If interested, please attend an information meeting at the Fitzroy Harbour Community Centre on Wednesday, Sept. 24 from 6 to 6:45 p.m.
“Your attendance at this meeting will count towards your volunteer hours,” the FHCA said. “We also welcome adult volunteers.”
