NEPEAN – Police have arrested a high school student who brought a laded gun to school yesterday (May 23).

The Ottawa Police Services Guns and Gangs investigators have charged a youth with weapons offences after a gun was seized at a west end school. Officers were called to an intermediate school at about 4 p.m. yesterday after reports that an individual was displaying a handgun.

At no time during this matter were threats made to any individual. Officers arrived and seized the loaded handgun and arrested a 13-year-old boy. The individual faces various weapons offences.

The investigation into this matter continues.
