Garlic is king this weekend at the Carp Farmers’ Market
CARP – If your in the Carp area this weekend, you might want to stuff your pocket with a few extra mints.
It’s the Carp Farmers’ Market’s annual Garlic Festival.
“You’re invited to the Annual Carp Farmers’
Market Garlic Festival,” market manager Ennio Marcantonio released in a
statement. “Taking place for two days only in August, come take part in a truly
unique local event.”
The popular garlic festival kicks off Saturday, Aug. 10, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
and Sunday, Aug. 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“Come shop from your favourite Carp market
vendors as well as a group of hand-picked Garlic Festival vendors,” Marcantonio
said. “Enjoy the summer weather as you shop local and participate in our
special garlic-themed events.”
This weekend’s Garlic Festival will feature more than 110 local vendors, an international
food court, cooking demos, info sessions, a garlic competition, garlic taste
testing, garlic shots, a Kids’ Club Tent featuring flower crown making, face
painting and balloon animals, live music, free parking, free admission, wheelchair
accessible and pet friendly (all dogs must be kept on a maximum 6-foot leash).
The majority of vendors accept cash only, however there is an ATM on site.
