Friends of the Carp Hill AGM

CARP – Get a wrap up on a busy year for the Friends of the Carp Hills (FCH) as well as a chance to hear guest speaker Holly Bickerton speak on her Carp Barrens trail impact story at the FCH annual general meeting March 25.

“We’re holding our annual general meeting on Wednesday, March 25 at 7 pm at the Carp Memorial Hall, 3739 Carp Rd.,” the FCH released in a statement yesterday (Jan. 20). “It will be immediately followed by our seventh public briefing where we’ll talk about our activities and plans for 2020 and beyond. The meeting is open to the public, but only members in good standing can vote on the budget and the slate of directors.”

After a short break, at approximately 8 p.m., the FCH welcome back guest speaker consulting ecologist Holly Bickerton.

“Holly recently completed a trail impact study on the Carp Barrens, one of the most ecologically significant and unique areas in Ottawa,” the FCH said. “She will tell us about what she discovered including species at risk nesting birds and turtles and a fen with regionally rare plants, one found only in the Carp Hills. Join us to find out what’s happening, provide feedback, and find out how you can help. As a community organization we rely on your support and involvement.”
