Freezing rain possible Monday afternoon

WEST CARLETON – Environment Canada is suggesting commuters might have a slippy ride home from work Monday (March 2).

The weather prognosticators have issues a special weather statement calling for freezing rain Monday afternoon.

“A band of rain will move through Eastern Ontario on Monday,” Environment Canada released in a statement this morning (March 1). “Areas along the Ottawa Valley are expected to receive freezing rain in the afternoon or early evening that has the potential to cause ice accumulation in some areas.”

Untreated surfaces, such as roads, walkways and parking lots could become icy, slippery and dangerous. There may be a significant impact on the afternoon commute Monday evening.
