Four guns seized over weekend
OTTAWA –The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) Guns and Gangs unit has seized four guns in two separate incidents over the weekend.
“Three guns were seized, two loaded handguns and one shotgun, following the execution of search warrant by the Guns and Gangs unit, in the 2200 block of Riverside Drive on the evening of Friday, Jan. 10,” the OPS released in a statement yesterday (Jan. 13).
The fourth gun was seized the following day.
“Frontline officers seized a loaded handgun following a traffic stop on the Vanier Parkway near the onramp to highway 417 West, just before midnight on Saturday Jan. 11,” the OPS said. “Arrests have been made in both incidents and the investigations are ongoing.”
