FITZROY HARBOUR – ‘Tis the season to get poked in the arm with a pointy needle to help keep the flu bug away.

The Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre (WOCRC) is partnering with the West Carleton Family Health Team to provide a Flu Shot Clinic Tuesday, Nov. 5 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Bethel St. Andrews United Church at 184 Jack Lougheed Way.

Flu shots are one of the most effective methods to prevent the flu.

The WOCRC also recommends:

• Washing hands often with soap and water or use hand sanitizer
• Cover your coughs and sneezes with your arm, not your hand
• If sick, stay home and avoid crowds and public gatherings
• Do not visit: hospitalized patients, residents of retirement homes or long-term car homes inf experiencing flu-like symptoms
