CARLETON PLACE – Pilots say any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. Guess that still applies if you have to climb out of a tree first.

Two men from Carleton Place walked away with just a few scratches after their float plane crashed into some trees near the Beckwith Airport.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say the plane landed on the 9th Line of Beckwith around 2:30 p.m., Friday (June 19) close to the Carleton Place Airport.

Officers say the crash was caused by a problem with the plane’s fuel line.

There will be no further investigation.
