Fifteen to 20 cm of snow expected starting today
-WEST CARLETON – Here it comes.
Environment Canada is calling for “significant snowfall” starting today (Nov. 22) and falling through the evening.
“Snow, at times heavy, is forecast to begin this afternoon,” Environment Canada released in a statement early this morning. “Snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 cm are expected by the time the snow tapers off Monday morning.”
This heavy snow is being attributed to a strengthening low pressure system that will track northeastward across the lower Great Lakes tonight.
“Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations,” Environment Canada said. “Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.”
Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
