FITZROY HARBOUR – The Fitzroy Harbour Community Association (FHCA) has found two worthy candidates to bestow some scholarship cash upon.

Each year the FHCA offers a scholarship up to $1,000 for young Fitzroy Harbour and area residents who are recent graduates of high school.

A committee of local community members select a worthy candidate or two.

This year the FHCA handed out $500 scholarships to Jacob Gagnon who is studying fitness and health promotion at Algonquin College and Owen Brown who is studying biology at the University of Ottawa.

“Congratulations to our 2020 FHCA Scholarship winners,” the FHCA released in a statement on Sept. 22. “Both winners receive $500 to put towards their studies.”
