COBDEN – Highway 17 just West of Cobden is closed as Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigate a fatal collision this morning (Oct. 29) involving a pedestrian.

Ottawa Valley OPP and Renfrew County paramedics were called to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian around 6:30 a.m.

The pedestrian struck by a vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the vehicle was uninjured. No names have been released, and Highway 17 between Turcotte and Mountain roads remain closed. Detours are in place.
