Family dispute leads to assault charge in Renfrew County weekly OPP round-up

RENFREW COUNTY – An assault in McNab-Braeside leads this week’s Renfrew County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) weekly round-up.

Between Oct. 12 to 18, the Renfrew Detachment of the OPP investigated 246 calls for service.

Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated 10 domestic disputes during the past week.

A family dispute on Oct. 12 led to an assault charge for one McNab-Braeside resident.

“Officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to a family dispute in McNab-Braeside Township,” Hunt said. “As a result of an investigation, Troy Riopelle, 40 of McNab-Braeside Township, has been charged with assault causing bodily harm.”

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on Nov. 18.

On Oct. 12, an officer with the Renfrew OPP Detachment was conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 17 in the Township of Horton. As a result of a traffic stop, Daniel Charbonneau, 48 of Pembroke, has been charged with impaired driving and driving with blood alcohol concentration over 80. The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on Nov. 18.

On Oct. 18, officers with the Renfrew OPP Detachment were conducting traffic enforcement in Greater Madawaska Township. A traffic stop was initiated on Centennial Lake Road and as a result of the investigation, Fredrick Millson, 51 of North Frontenac Township, has been charged with impaired driving and driving with blood alcohol concentration over 80. The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on Nov. 18.

On Oct.  18, an officer with the Renfrew OPP Detachment responded to a motor vehicle collision in Whitewater Region Township. As a result of the investigation, Damen Cote, 23 of Otter Lake, QC has been charged with driving with blood alcohol concentration over 80. The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on Nov. 18.
