Eq’Oest Stables hosts online equestrian clinic Jan. 2
DUNROBIN – One of the sports affected by the COVID-19 pandemic is horseback riding, but the owner of Eq’Ouest Stables is pivoting and bringing its teaching online with workshops on setting a good mental framework Saturday, Jan. 2.
Eq’Ouest Stables owner Natalie Castonguay and teacher Amanda Dunklin will be hosing on online click Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. focussing on goal setting as a rider looking to improve.
“I have had the privilege of growing up in the equestrian sport and owned, coached and trained for most of my adulthood with my school, Adda’Go Equestrian,” Castonguay released in a statement yesterday (Dec. 30). “I am no stranger to the immense overhead to managing a school herd and am happy to help the community in any way I can to keep these horses fed and cared for through this lockdown.”
In the session, Eq’Ouest Stables will cover setting fair and clear goals per ride, per month, per season, annually and long term with a plan.
We will discuss how to face failure and fall in love with the adventure of continual learning,” Catonguay said.
To participate, please e-transfer the admission fee of $15 to eqouest@gmail.com and you will be sent a meeting link.
This clinic’s host barn will be Eq’Ouest Stables, owned by Castonguay who is also a nurse working the front lines of the pandemic.
“Let’s show up, learn some things and support a worthy cause,” Castonguay said. “All levels welcome. Goals are for everyone.”
