El-Chantiry to host OP engagement session Sept. 23
KINBURN – West Carleton residents will get an opportunity to provide their input on the City of Ottawa’s new Official Plan (OP) in an ‘engagement session’ scheduled for Sept. 23.
Coun. Eli El-Chantiry is hosting the event that will be held Monday, Sept. 23 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the West Carleton Community Complex Roly Armitage Hall.
“This is a huge step for the city,” El-Chantiry told West Carleton Online Sept. 6. “This plan sets the direction of the city until 2046.”
The plan is to have the new Official Plan ready by March 2021, but it is a huge undertaking. This isn’t the first local public input on the OP as the city hosted an economic development strategy last June related to the new OP.
The meeting will start with a brief staff presentation followed by breakout sessions. No RSVP is required, and light refreshments will be provided.
