El-Chantiry hosting Jack o’ Lantern contest

WEST CARLETON – Coun. Eli El-Chantiry wants to see your scariest Jack o’ Lanterns this spooky season.

El-Chantiry is hosting a Pumpkin Carving Contest from now until the end of the month and has three Hallowe’en gift baskets to present to the best pumpkin carvers in Ward 5.

“With COVID-19 dampening our Hallowe’en fun a little bit this year, I’m hoping to stir up some fun for Ward 5 residents with my Pumpkin Carving Contest,” El-Chantiry released in a statement today (Oct. 19).

El-Chantiry asks contestants to email a photo of their carved pumpkin to ward5@ottawa.ca to have a chance to win.

El-Chantiry will make socially distanced deliveries to the winners on Hallowe’en. To qualify contestants must also include a name, address and phone number with their entry.

The deadline to submit is noon on Oct. 30. One submission per household. The winning residents’ names may be published on El-Chantiry social media and other communications.
