CARP – The Diefenbunker Museum is encouraging you to drink whiskey at home this holiday season.

What would have been the Diefenbunker’s eighth Whiskey Business fundraiser, has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But the museum crew is hoping you will host a whiskey tribute in the event’s honour at home this year.

“For the first time in eight years we won’t be hosting our Whisky Business fundraiser, so we found a way to bring some Bunker cheer to you at home, and hopefully raise a few funds for your favourite local Bunker,” Diefenbunker staff released in a statement Tuesday (Nov. 24). “We’ve partnered with Savvy Company and the Swan at Carp to create four holiday themed cocktail recipes for you to impress your friends and family.”

The cocktail recipes are available for digital download, and come with a few digital bonuses, including an exclusive virtual tour of the Bunker.

“We also have a limited number of take-home cocktail kits available for purchase,” the Diefenbunker said. “These will include everything you need to make cocktails for two (sans alcohol) and include some fun Bunker swag. It’s the perfect gift. You get to stay home, shop local, and help us keep our blast doors open.”
