Drinking, driving under spotlight in Renfrew County OPP round-up

RENFREW COUNTY – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to focus on impaired driving in a week when the OPP investigated 213 calls for service between Sept. 14 to Sept. 20.

Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated five domestic disputes during the past week.

On Sept. 14, officers with the Renfrew OPP detachment were dispatched to a traffic complaint on O’Brien Road in the Town of Renfrew. As a result of the investigation Danny Gagne, 36 of Repentigny, QC, was charged with impaired driving, and possession of a schedule I substance. The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on Oct.  21.

On Sept. 16, officers with the Renfrew OPP detachment were dispatched to a traffic complaint on Daniel Street South in the Town of Arnprior. Officers located the vehicle on Fairbrook Court, in Arnprior. As a result of the investigation Scott Martin, 48 of Arnprior, was charged with impaired driving, and driving with blood alcohol concentration over 80. The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on Dec. 2.

On Sept. 18, officers with the Renfrew OPP Detachment were dispatched to a traffic complaint on Highway 417 near the Town of Arnprior. Officers located the vehicle on Daniel Street South in Arnprior. As a result of the investigation Megan Yantha, 29 of the City of Pembroke, was charged with impaired driving. The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on Oct. 7.

On Sept. 19, officers of the Renfrew OPP detachment were conducting a RIDE check on Highway 60, in the Township of Horton. As a result of the RIDE, Cody McLeese, 25 of Renfrew, was charged with driving with blood alcohol concentration over 80. The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on Oct. 7.
