RENFREW COUNTY – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated 209 calls for service between June 1 and June 7.

Arnprior and Renfrew OPP constables investigated five domestic disputes during the past week. One accused has been charged with assault, one accused has been charged with assault, mischief, obstruct peace officer, theft under $5000, two counts of fail to comply with undertaking and two counts of fail to comply with probation.

The OPP investigated back-to-back impaired driving

On June 6, an officer with the Renfrew OPP Detachment was conducting traffic enforcement in the Town of Arnprior.

“A traffic stop was initiated on Baskin Drive West and as a result of the investigation, David Dubois, 31-years-old, of Admaston-Bromley Township has been charged with impaired driving and driving with blood alcohol concentration over 80,” Hunt said. “The accused was released on an undertaking to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on July 22.”

On June 7, a traffic stop was initiated on John Street North and as a result of the investigation, Kyle DeFalco, 29-years-old of Arnprior has been charged with impaired driving and driving with blood alcohol concentration over 80. The accused was released on an undertaking to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on July 22.

On June 1, officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to a bail violations call on Highway 17 in Arnprior. 

As a result of an investigation, Luigi-Brendan Haaima, 23-years-old of Ottawa has been charged with:

• Three counts of fail to comply with release order,
• Two counts of fail to comply with probation,
• And mischief under $5,000.

The accused was held for a bail hearing on June 2.

On June 7, 2020 officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to a bail violations call in the Town of Renfrew. As a result of an investigation, Dorothy O’Brien, 55-years-old of Renfrew, has been charged with three counts of fail to comply with release order. The accused was held for a bail hearing on June 8.

On June 6, officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to a breach of probation call in the Town of Renfrew. As a result of an investigation, Anthony Defazio, 30-years-old of Renfrew, has been charged with mischief under $5,000 and fail to comply with probation order. The accused was released on an Undertaking to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on Aug. 19. 

On June 7, officers with the Renfrew OPP, along with the assistance of the Renfrew County Crime Unit investigated a sexual assault complaint in the Town of Renfrew. As a result of the investigation a 54-year-old of Whitewater Region Township was charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual exploitation of person with disability.

The accused was released on an undertaking to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on Aug. 19.
