Diefenbunker seeking new board members

CARP – Climb on board the underground museum’s group of directors.

The Diefenbunker Cold War Museum is seeking volunteers to join the board of directors. The board provides oversight and guidance to the museum’s executive director.

Volunteer members serve three-year terms with a maximum of two terms.

“We currently have vacancies in fundraising, communication and marketing,” the museum released in a statement.

Prospective applicants should have “a well-developed background in one of the following sectors: legal, financial, education, museology, technology, marketing, facilities, engineering, communications, human resources and fundraising,” the statement read. “Experience at a senor level in the non-profit, government, Canadian military, museum or private sector rounds out your profile.”

Directors are asked to commit to one or two board and committee meetings each quarter with a reduced commitment during the summer months. All directors ae assigned to working committees and are expected to be “fully engaged” in the associated committee work.

Applicants should provide a resume and outline their interest in joining the board as well as management or professional experience.
