Diefenbunker makes TripAdvisor’s Hall of Fame

CARP – Canada’s Cold War Museum is now a Hall of Famer.

The Diefenbunker was recently named to TripAdvisor’s Hall of Fame. To make it to the hallowed hall, a restaurant, hotel of attraction must receive the Award of Excellence five years in a row.

TripAdvisor is the world’s largest curated travel review site where visitors leave reviews of restaurants, hotels and attractions they have visited. The Diefenbunker has 1,214 registered reviews with 94 per cent of the reviews ranking the museum very good or excellent.

On TripAdvisor the museum is ranked Number One out of 11 things to do in Carp.

“Thank you to everyone who takes the time to leave us wonderful reviews,” museum staff posted on Facebook today (May 23). “We read each and every one of them.”

The certificate of excellence achievement celebrates businesses who have consistently achieved glowing traveller reviews on TripAdvisor over the past year. The program is in its ninth year.

The Certificate of Excellence accounts for the quality, quantity and recency of reviews submitted by travellers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period. To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.

“This recognition helps travellers identify and book properties that regularly deliver great service,” vice president of Industry Marketing, Heather Leisman said. “TripAdvisor is proud to play this integral role in helping travellers feel more confident in their booking decisions.”
