OTTAWA – After two days totalling 76 confirmed COVID-19 cases earned Ottawa the reputation of a hotspot from the Ontario minister of health, Thursday (July 23) boasted just 14 new cases.

Ontario Minister of Health Christine Elliott says the only other hot spot outside of Ottawa is Windsor-Essex, which reported 23 cases on Thursday.

Ontario is reporting 103 cases of COVID-19 today.

There are five or fewer new cases in 28 of the province’s 34 public health units, with 21 of them reporting no new cases at all. 

Wednesday, Ontario processed 26,001 COVID-19 tests.

In Renfrew County the community continues to hold strong with no new COVID-19 cases in over two weeks and a week without an active case.

The last reported case from the local health unit was on Tuesday, July 7. The Renfrew County and District Health Unit also marked the last active case of COVID-19 as resolved a week ago today (Wednesday, July 15th).

A total of 16,872 tests have been completed with 27 confirmed cases, 26 considered resolved and one death from the virus.
