Consecutive armed robberies in Nepean, suspect to identify

CARLINGTON – The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) Robbery Unit is looking for public assistance in identifying a male suspect involved in two consecutive robberies on Baseline Road yesterday (April 6).

“At approximately 3:04 p.m., in the 700 block of Baseline Road, a lone man entered a business, threatened staff and demanded money,” the OPS released in a statement. At 3:33 p.m. a man, matching the description of the previous robbery, entered another business located in the 1800 block of Baseline Road. He again confronted staff and demanded money.”

The suspect left both premises on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. No injuries were reported in either incidents.

“In both instances, the suspect has been described as a Caucasian male in his early 20s, approximately 5’ 7” (170 cm) with a skinny build,” the OPS said. “He was wearing a blue zip-up hooded sweatshirt with a white logo in the left chest area, green baseball hat, black Under Armour jogging-style pants, red running shoes and a black and white camouflage-style bandana covering his face.”
