Concerts raise $2,082 for CHEO
FITZROY HARBOUR – Great music at a beautiful venue helped raise $2,082 for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario throughout July.
The 24th Concerts in the Park music series held in Fitzroy Provincial Park came to a close for another year last Thursday (July 25) with a stand-up performance from country stars Ambush.
The weather was perfect each and every night of this year’s series of Thursday night free concerts sponsored by Coun. Eli El-Chantiry and Waste Management. This year’s concerts featured Eddie and the Stingrays, the Heartbeats, Big Newton and Ambush.
This year the Corkery Community Association volunteered to organize the music series and relatively new resident and musician Jennifer Johnson took the lead.
“Glad the CCA was a part of it this year,” Johnson said. “Hopefully even bigger and better next time.”
