Concerts in the Park Series artists announced

FITZROY HARBOUR – The music is coming back to the park for the 24th year.

Earlier this year West Carleton Online broke the news the Corkery Community Association would be organizing this year’s Concerts in the Park Series held at Fitzroy Provincial Park using it as a fundraiser for the recently announced $1.5 million renovation project for Corkery’s community centre.

Now we can tell you who’s playing.

The concert series sponsored in part by Coun. Eli El-Chantiry and Waste Management, has been entertaining West Carletonites for 23 years in the beautiful park.

The free event runs Thursdays in July starting on July 4. Gates open at 6 p.m. with a cash only barbecue that is run as a fundraiser and by youth groups. Both the Merge Robotics Team and West Carleton Scouts take on the challenge. The music starts at 7 and runs to 8:30 p.m. rain or shine.

This year’s line-up includes some old favourites and new sounds:

  • July 4, Eddy and the Stingrays
  • July 11, The Heartbeats
  • July 18, Big Newton
  • July 25, Ambush

Don’t forget your lawn chair.
