City to run day camps on Wednesday for school closures

KANATA – The City of Ottawa will again host day camps during Wednesday’s (Jan. 15) Ottawa-area school closures, but none will be held in the West Carleton area.

The closest city run day camp to West Carleton residents will be held at the Richcraft Recreation Complex in Kanata or the Kanata Recreation Complex.

“Registration is now open for the City of Ottawa day camp programs for children between the ages of four and 12 during the one-day school closures on Wednesday, Jan. 15,” City of Ottawa staff released in a statement today (Jan. 13).

The day camps will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at a cost of $40 per day, at the following locations:

English camps

  • Bob MacQuarrie Recreation Complex – Orléans
  • St-Laurent Complex
  • Hintonburg Community Centre
  • Greenboro Community Centre
  • Rideauview Community Centre
  • Walter Baker Sports Centre
  • Richcraft Recreation Complex – Kanata
  • CARDELREC Recreation Complex (Goulbourn)
  • Kanata Recreation Complex
  • Sawmill Creek Community Centre
  • Greely Community Centre
  • Manotick Community Centre 

French camps

  • Bob MacQuarrie Recreation Complex – Orléans
  • St-Laurent Complex
  • Sandy Hill Community Centre
  • Pre- and post-camp care will be available for an additional fee from 7:30 to 8 a.m. and 5 to 5:30 p.m. at the following facilities:

  • St-Laurent Complex
  • Greenboro Community Centre
