City launches Rural Landscapes photo contest
WEST CARLETON – Brighten up the day of your City of Ottawa neighbours by submitting an entry in the Rural Landscapes photo contest.
The City of Ottawa Rural Affairs Office is launching a friendly photo contest focusing on the rural areas of the city.
“These last few months have been challenging for many people,” Coun. Eli El- Chantiry released in a statement today (June 23). “Social isolation and disruptions to our daily routines have impacted many of us. Negative news reports and social media posts may impose additional stress. Many of us have found solace in exploring the natural beauty of the truly wonderful place where we live, whether in our own backyards or in local green spaces.”
The Rural Affairs Office invites you to share your photographs with them for inclusion in future newsletters, to brighten everyone’s day: scenic landscapes, spring blossoms, wildlife, or domestic animals enjoying the outdoors.
Photos should be submitted before July 1, to ruralaffairs@ottawa.ca. Please indicate the general location where the photo was taken (name of natural area, nearest village, etc.
