This month is a very special time of year – a time for giving, sharing, and coming together in our community. It is a wonderful few weeks because we break from our daily routines and create time to be with family, friends and neighbours.

I believe Christmas and the holidays bring out the very best in us and in our community. It is a time when we are more charitable, showing our kindness and generosity. I am reminded of a Harlan Miller observation, “I wish we could put up some of the Christmas spirit in jars and open a jar of it every month.” What a marvelous thought.

I send you my best wishes and, in the days and weeks ahead, I hope you will enjoy your holiday time with family and friends. Embrace each moment for the humanity and joy it offers. Merry Christmas to all.
