Carp streets decorated with community spirit

CARP – A community initiative in downtown Carp has beautified the streets in a festive manner.

When you are out tomorrow (Dec. 14) enjoying the 11th Annual Carp Christmas Parade at noon, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for more than just the floats.

“All 25 of the decorative Huntley Community Association (HCA) Christmas baskets that are being placed along Carp Road and Donald B Munro Drive in downtown Carp have been sponsored,” the HCA released in a statement today (Dec. 13). “Thanks to everyone who gifted the village. This amazing community has turned our little project into wonderful testimony to their love of the village and in several cases, remembrance of family and friends who in the past inspired all of us with their own community spirit. Enjoy the baskets during this season of peace and goodwill.”

The festive baskets are helping to turn Carp in to a winter wonderland.

“Our generous donors have been thanked on the HCA website, Facebook and Twitter pages,” the HCA said. “Here again we’d like to acknowledge their generosity and community spirit.”
