Carp scrap metal drop-off extended by a day
CARP – Got caught up in all that beautiful weather over the weekend? Don’t worry, the Huntley Community Association (HCA) is extending its scrap metal recycling event by one day – today (Nov. 9).
“Due to an overwhelming response to the HCA’s metal recycling event we’ve added a second bin and extended this event until the end of day today,” HCA board member Amy Baldry released in a statement this morning. “Bring your metals and electronics over to the outdoor rink building for recycling.”
All types of metal are accepted in addition to e-waste, insulated wiring and appliances that do not contain freon or flammable liquids.
“At last year’s event more than two metric tonnes of metal were recycled with the proceeds, roughly $350, used to support other HCA initiatives,” the HCA said. “Metro Scrap Metal has again generously agreed to supply a storage bin for this year’s event, at no cost to the HCA, which will be located at the outdoor rink by the Carp fairgrounds.”
