CARP – Gambit Music Academy’s Jennifer Johnson hosted her first Christmas Recital in her new location Wednesday evening (Dec. 11).

The recital showcased 19 performers from age four up to “adult-aged,” and around 60 family and friends came out to the academy’s new, larger location at the beautiful site of the old Carp Cabin at 211 Donald B Munro Dr. for an evening of great music performed by a variety musicians.

“It was a really nice way to get settled into the new location and felt really warm and inviting,” Johnson told West Carleton Online yesterday.

Johnson moved her academy just a bit further out of the village to a place with more space allowing her to expand the business and host a variety of different events.

The Christmas Recital was the largest event, and first Christmas-themed, Gambit Music Academy has hosted.

“We had such a wonderful time at our Christmas Recital this evening,” Johnson said. “So proud of all the students who worked so hard to make it happen. It takes courage to get up and play for a bunch of strangers, and they all sounded fantastic. The recital covered everything from Bach to Jingle Bells to Motley Crue, and all of the students played phenomenally, I couldn’t be happier.”
