Carp corridor break-in now has photos

CARP – Ottawa police hope photos will help as the investigative team continues to solve the crime of a Carp area robbery Dec. 5.

“The investigators haven’t given us a lot of information,” Ottawa Police Service’s media relations Const. Amy Gagnon told West Carleton Online today (Jan. 7). “Releasing photos is one of the investigative tools available to the investigations and that’s where the investigation is at, at this point.”

The OPS Break and Enter Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects they believe are responsible for a break and enter in the 100 block of Cardevco Road in the Carp Road corridor on Dec. 5.

At approximately 1 a.m, two suspects broke into a business and stole the cash box and all the money contained inside. Cardevco Road is connected to Richardson Side Road and Carp Road. The area is within the Carp Road Corridor Business Improvement Area and there are several businesses in the area including Voyago, Akman Construction, Torque Truck and Auto Repair, Virtucom Metals and Jestek Electric.

Const. Gagnon did not share the name of the business or the amount of money stole referring to that information as “holdback information.”

“That information is still part of the investigation,” she said.

Const. Gagnon did say there was damage involved in the theft.

“It was a forced break and enter,” she said.

The first suspect is described as a Caucasian man with facial hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a ball cap, hooded sweater, jeans and light-coloured running shoes, as well as gloves.

The second suspect is described as a Caucasian woman. At the time of the incident she was wearing a ball cap, hooded sweater, heavy winter coat and boots.
