Branch 616 recruiting volunteers for Poppy Campaign
WEST CARLETON – The last Friday of the month (Oct. 25) is the official start of the West Carleton Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Campaign and the branch is looking for your help.
The campaign runs from Oct. 25 to Sunday, Nov. 10.
“Our branch’s success for raising donations during this campaign is greatly dependent on the number of volunteers that will support our efforts,” West Carleton Polly chair and Branch 616 vice president Bogdan Procyk released in a statement. “For the two weeks of the Poppy we will need volunteers to sit at tables at the two major grocery stores (Sobeys & Metro) on March Road and, this year, to stand at the entrance of the Liquor Store also on March Road.”
The branch has a goal to raise at least $20,000 during this year’s Poppy Campaign.
“With your volunteer time and support we will achieve our goal,” Procyk said. “A campaign volunteer scheduling calendar for those mentioned locations will be available at our Legion branch. Please come to the branch to sign up and pick your dates and time slots for when you would like to volunteer during the two weeks of the campaign. Volunteer instructions will also be available when you sign up.”
