CONSTANCE BAY – The West Carleton Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 616, is slowly coming back to life with a couple of events to kick off October.

On Saturday, Oct. 3, Branch 616 will be hosting the First Annual Alf Currie Memorial legion golf tournament. The tournament will be held at the Copperdale Golf Club on Dunrobin Side Road. Entry fee is $60 and $70 if you are taking a cart. To register or for more information, call Tom Watters at 613-32-1143.

The following Friday (Oct. 9) the legion will be cooking Thanskgiving Dinner by Harriet.

It’s roast turkey with all the trimmings. The event is take-out only and pick up will be between 5:30 and 7 p.m. The cost is $15 per meal.
