Boxing Day freezing rain

WEST CARLETON – Get your Boxing Day shopping done early today, freezing rain is expected this evening.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement today (Dec. 26) around noon calling for some freezing rain and freezing drizzle likely tonight.

“Precipitation associated with an approaching low pressure system will move into eastern Ontario later today,” Environment Canada released in a statement. “Some freezing rain or freezing drizzle is likely tonight into Friday morning, although amounts are not expected to be overly significant. Areas closer to the Quebec border are most likely to experience the freezing rain, and warnings may be required as the event draws closer.”
