Arrest in Bayshore home invasion
BAYSHORE – One person is in custody and two other individuals are being sought after a home invasion on Woodridge Cr. Sunday (Aug. 23) morning.
“At 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 23, three people broke into a residence in the 100 block of Woodridge,” the Ottawa Police Service released in a statement today (Aug. 24). “911 was called and the suspects fled. One person was arrested by frontline patrol officers with the assistance of officers positioned nearby as part of an increased police presence in the Bayshore area.”
Hyani Rutare, 24, was charged with multiple offences including breaking and entering with intent to commit an indictable offence, attempted robbery, wearing a disguise, forcible confinement and breach of undertaking.
“The investigation continues,” the OPS said.
