Arnprior’s Grove declares non-COVID-19 respiratory breakout

ARNPRIOR – The Grove Nursing Home announced today (April 9) it is battling a respiratory breakout within its walls, but the influenza is not COVID-19.

“Today, the Grove Nursing Home was declared on respiratory outbreak by Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU), Arnprior Regional Health (ARH) communications and community engagement manager Melissa McDermott released in a statement. “The initial tests for COVID-19 have come back negative and additional test results are pending.”

Staff at the long-term care facility are taking steps to control the outbreak.

“The Grove is taking every outbreak precaution and has isolated impacted residents as part of the safety protocols,” McDermott said. “It’s important to underline that ARH does not have confirmed COVID-19 cases. The Grove team is monitoring the situation closely and working in partnership with the RCDHU to do everything possible to protect the health and safety of residents and staff.”
