Arnprior police respond to attempted abduction call May 21

ARNPRIOR – Arnprior police have arrested a local man following an investigation based on an attempted abduction call.

“On May 21, at approximately 8 p.m. officers with the Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an attempted abduction call on Edward Street, in the Town of Arnprior,” the OPP released in a statement Friday (May 22). “The Renfrew County Crime Unit assisted with the investigation.”

The investigation determined no person was abducted, and no injuries were sustained in this incident.

 “As a result of the investigation, Micheal Hawley, 61-years-old of Arnprior, has been charged with criminal harassment – threatening conduct,” the OPP said. “The accused was release on an undertaking to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on July 22.”
