Arnprior hospital still has ace up its sleeve

ARNPRIOR – The Ace of Spades is yet to be found in Arnprior Regional Health Foundation’s Catch the Ace Lottery that is now in its 38th week—presently, the longest running and highest active progressive jackpot in the Ottawa Valley.

The Catch the Ace Lottery has a current progressive jackpot of approximately $64,000 and counting. To date, 34 people have won the weekly draw with three individuals winning twice – taking home a collective total of $41,900. It has also raised $106,000 (and counting) for life-saving equipment at Arnprior Regional Health.

“Our Catch the Ace Lottery is an absolute win-win for our community and Arnprior Regional Health,” foundation executive director Ben Gardiner said. “During the pandemic, we launched a new fun way to support and strengthen local healthcare, and a chance for our community members to play and potentially win a significant amount of money that can make a meaningful impact in their lives.”

The ability to run the Catch the Ace Lottery virtually helped the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation adjust to the limitations the pandemic put on event-based fundraising initiatives.

“It’s been a wonderful and safe way to stay engaged and connected with our community, and we look forward to our safe outdoor cheque presentation with the happy winner every week,” said Ben.

Since its May launch, 1,742 community members have played in the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation’s Catch the Ace Lottery and 15 envelopes remain. Draws continue weekly on Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m. until the Ace of Spades is found.
