Arnprior health CEO not afraid of health super agency
ARNPRIOR – the Arnprior Regional Health CEO Eric Hannah says let’s not panic over a new approach to the delivery of Health Care in Ontario.
Hannah tells Oldies 107.7 FM that he had an inkling of the changes coming prior to the province’s announcement this week of a new super agency for health.
“I serve on several provincial bodies, so I’ve known about this for some time,” Hannah said. “The consolidation will create this so-called super agency, Ontario Health, and that’s about 21 organizations.”
Hannah says the merger of Ontario’s 14 Local Health Integration Networks with Cancer Care Ontario, and the Trillium Gift of Life agency will drive best practices forward.
“In the case of the LHINs a lot of the work may not have been consistent from one LHIN to another LHIN,” Hannah said. “These one-off projects in 14 areas will maybe (be shared with all communities).”
The ARH CEO says he doesn’t anticipate significant job loss, and expects most LHIN staff would likely find employment with the new Ontario Health agency.
