Arnprior banker, Harbour resident Bouchard passes
FITZROY HARBOUR – Long-time banker and community leader Robert ‘Bob’ Bouchard passed peacefully Sunday, Aug. 4, surrounded by family. He was 69.
Bouchard was well known in West Carleton and Arnprior as a long-serving banker at the Royal Bank of Canada in Arnprior. He served many of the farmers, businesses and residents in the rural community during his many years with the branch where he rose through the organization becoming a manger for the area before retiring.
He led many of the local bank’s fundraising initiatives and was a leader in both West Carleton and Arnprior communities.
“His interests were varied but almost always involved nature and the great outdoors,” Bouchard’s family wrote in his obituary. “A man of many talents, he will be missed.”
The long-time Fitzroy Harbour resident, who was raised in Renfrew, devoted much of his time to his community.
Bouchard was a Past District Deputy Grand Master of Ottawa District 1 of the Carleton Masonic Lodge No. 465. Bouchard was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a Shriner.
Visitation of Bouchard will happen at the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel tomorrow (Aug. 9) from 2 to 4 p.m. A Masonic Memorial Service will take place at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m.
