Armchair travel to Nunavut from Carp library

CARP – You think it’s cold here? Try Nunavut. But from the warmth of the Carp branch of the Ottawa Public Library.

The Carp library is hosting the speaker series Armchair Travel: Nunavut at the branch (3911 Carp Rd.) on Thursday, Feb. 20. At 7 p.m.

“Have you ever dreamed of travelling to Canada’s North?” librarian Lori Fielding released in a statement. “Join travel expert Carole Gobeil to learn about the wonders of Nunavut.

Discover Nunavut: its beauty, its people, their art and their challenges. Gobeil has been a member on the board of directors with Nunavut Travel for the past three years. As tourism and mining industries are growing in the Canadian Arctic, Gobeil will share the changes she has witnessed during her 15 years of travelling up north in terms of the communities, the wildlife and the shifting of ice.
