12 Angry Jurors RRTC fall production
CONSTANCE BAY – A classic play, with updated casting brings the audience behind the scenes in a controversial murder trial.
The Rural Root Theatre Company presents 12 Angry Jurors by Reginald Rose from Tuesday, Oct. 22 to Saturday, Oct. 22 on the NorthWind Wireless Fibre Centre stage in Constance Bay. There will also be a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, Oct. 20.
The play, directed by Ric O’Dell, is based on the 1957 movie 12 Angry Men starring Henry Fonda.
The drama depicts a jury forced to rule on a homicide trial. At the beginning they have a nearly unanimous decision of guilt, with a single dissenter who, throughout the play, sows a seed of reasonable doubt.
The story begins after closing arguments have been presented in the homicide case. As in most American criminal cases the 12 must unanimously decide on a verdict of guilty or not guilty.
Tickets are $17 and can be found at the Rural Root Theatre Company website.
