Herald Street Brew Works has been founded by Mike and Lee Spence of The Drake, Jorden Foss and Jamie Garbutt of Steel & Oak, and Ryan Bangma. Brewing is being overseen by head brewer Jean-Benoît, previously of Ottawa’s Beyond the Pale Brewing.
Open since last Monday, Herald Street currently has ten beers – LTC West Coast Pale Ale (5.75% abv), These Are the Haze: Citra & Sabro Hazy IPA (6.04% abv), Crowd Work Multigrain IPA (6.98% abv), This Beer Is Making Me Thirsty Dry Hopped Saison (5.11% abv), Jay Swoff West Coast IPA (6.77% abv), Euro Trip Robust Porter (6.52% abv), Jacked Lemon Blonde Ale (5.57% abv), Rye To the Bone Rye Saison (6.65% abv), A-Team Amarillo Wheat Ale (4.9% abv), and These Are the Haze: Azacca & Southern Passion Hazy IPA (6.04% abv) – available on tap and in cans.
Herald Street Brew Works is located at 506 Herald Street in Victoria, and is open Monday to Thursday from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Friday to Sunday from 12:00 noon to 10:00 PM. For more details, see the brewery’s website and Facebook page.
